Rounded up, San Clemente fares from LAX run $270–$289 for a sedan and $312–$333 for an SUV.

What moves a San Clemente fare, and what doesn't?

  • The vehicle. At the eleven San Clemente stops we priced, the SUV cost $41.91 to $44.16 more than the sedan.
  • How far down the coast you go. The southeast edge priced $18.49 above Camino De Estrella, because the drive inside San Clemente is longer.
  • A detour. Adding the Outlets or a grocery stop on the way home adds both distance and minutes, and the quote reflects each.
  • Add-ons. A child seat is $25 and up per seat, a pet is $25, and once the free hour at LAX is used, waiting is $1 per minute.
  • Traffic or the hour you land. Our Camino De Estrella and Calle Isabella quotes came back identical for a Tuesday 11 AM landing and a Friday 5 PM landing, although the Friday drive can run about 30 minutes longer at the slow end.

Departures

When should you leave San Clemente for your flight?

Plan to be at LAX 2 hours before a domestic departure and 3 hours before an international one; these pickups are built on that. For every San Clemente to LAX airport run below, the clock starts at City Hall, uses the slow end of Google's westbound estimate, then adds a 20-minute safety buffer and 10 spare minutes. On a 66-mile drive that buffer earns its place, because peak estimates can run short. For a 6 PM domestic flight, plan a San Clemente pickup at about 1:30 PM, four and a half hours ahead.

  • Every pickup in the table includes a 20-minute safety buffer on top of the drive estimate.
  • The first 15 minutes outside your San Clemente door cost nothing.
  • Bags go into the car at your door and come out again at your airline's Departures curb; your chauffeur handles both ends.
  • The southeast edge of the city measured 68.7 miles from LAX against 65.9 to City Hall, so dispatch at (833) 743-3360 can tell you whether an earlier start makes sense.
  • Airlines sometimes ask for more time at check-in; their guidance comes first.

What helps on a San Clemente ride?

  • The City sets metered beach parking at $1.50 an hour from 9 am to 10 pm at North Beach, Linda Lane, Parque Del Mar/Pier Bowl and Esplanade/T-Street. A chauffeur drop-off skips the meter entirely.
  • San Clemente State Beach is entered from the Avenida Calafia exit off Interstate 5, not from the coast road. Name the campground or day-use entrance in your booking notes.
  • A free seasonal trolley, run by the City with the Orange County Transportation Authority, links major destinations in town, so you may not need a car once you have arrived.
  • Dogs are on the City's list of items not allowed on San Clemente beaches. A ride to your own door avoids the problem; the pet fee is $25.
  • Your fare is the same at every hour, but the westbound clock is not: up to 1 hr 20 min leaving City Hall at 6:30 PM against 2 hr 15 min at 7 AM.

Compare your options

Is a LAX to San Clemente car service worth it over rideshare, a taxi or a shuttle?

Four kinds of ride cover the LAX to San Clemente trip. On a 66-mile run they differ most in where you board, when you learn the price and who else rides with you.

Of the four, only the private car combines a terminal pickup with a fare agreed before you leave home.

Frequently asked questions

LAX to San Clemente car service FAQ

The questions travelers ask before booking a LAX to San Clemente transfer, grouped in the order they usually come up.

Fares

How much is a LAX to San Clemente car service?

A LAX to San Clemente car service with iRide360 starts at $270 for an executive sedan and $312 for a luxury SUV. Across eleven San Clemente stops we priced, fares rounded up to $270–$289 by sedan and $312–$333 by SUV. Tolls and taxes are included, and the gratuity is optional.

What does a San Clemente to LAX car service cost?

A San Clemente to LAX car service is priced on its own: enter your San Clemente address as the pickup at iride360.com/book and both vehicle fares appear before you pay. Every figure on this page came from quotes in the opposite direction, LAX into the city, from $270 by sedan and $312 by SUV. Surge pricing is never applied in either direction.

What sets the LAX to San Clemente car service cost?

Distance sets most of the fare. City Hall is 65.9 road miles from LAX, and the LAX to San Clemente car service cost reflects that whole drive, from $270 by sedan. The price then stays fixed: our quotes at Camino De Estrella and Calle Isabella were identical at 11 AM Tuesday and 5 PM Friday.

Does rush-hour traffic change the price?

No. Your fare is set when you book and does not move with traffic, and iRide360 never adds surge pricing. We quoted the same two San Clemente addresses for a Tuesday 11 AM landing and a Friday 5 PM landing and got identical figures, even though the Friday drive can run about 30 minutes longer at the slow end.

Is the gratuity included in the price?

No, the gratuity is optional and sits outside the quoted fare. At checkout you choose 15%, 18%, 20% (pre-selected) or 25%, or you type any amount, including zero. Whatever you choose goes to the chauffeur. Tolls and taxes are already inside the price, so there is nothing else to settle in the car.

Distance and timing

How far is San Clemente from LAX?

San Clemente is about 66 miles from LAX by road. Google measures 65.9 miles from the airport to San Clemente City Hall and 68.7 miles to the southeast edge of the city; the return from City Hall is 65.5 miles. The distance from LAX to San Clemente makes this one of the longest regular Orange County runs.

How long is the drive from LAX to San Clemente?

The drive to City Hall typically takes 1 hr to 1 hr 20 min at 10 PM on a Tuesday and 1 hr to 1 hr 25 min at 11 AM, per Google traffic estimates (Routes API). At 5 PM on a Tuesday it typically takes 1 hr 25 min to 2 hr 15 min. Saturday at 2 PM runs 1 hr 5 min to 1 hr 30 min.

What time should I leave San Clemente for a 6 AM flight?

Leave central San Clemente at about 2:20 AM for a 6 AM domestic flight. That allows 2 hours at LAX, the 69-minute slow end of the 3:30 AM estimate from City Hall, a 20-minute safety buffer and 10 spare minutes. At that hour the drive typically takes 55 minutes to 1 hr 10 min, per Google traffic estimates (Routes API).

When should my pickup be for a 9 AM flight, and why is a 6 PM flight a 1:30 PM pickup?

Book about 4:15 AM for a 9 AM flight and about 1:30 PM for a 6 PM one. A San Clemente to LAX airport run leaving City Hall at 7 AM typically takes 1 hr 15 min to 2 hr 15 min, and the 4:30 PM reading runs 1 hr 10 min to 2 hr, per Google traffic estimates (Routes API). Each pickup adds a 20-minute safety buffer.

How early should I book for an international flight?

Plan on about 5:15 AM for an 11 AM international departure and about 5:00 PM for a 10:30 PM one. Both allow 3 hours at LAX, the slow end of the nearest westbound estimate from City Hall, a 20-minute safety buffer and 10 spare minutes. Dispatch can shift the pickup if your airline asks for more time.

At the airport

What happens if my flight lands late?

Nothing changes on your side: we track your flight by its number and move the pickup to the new landing time at no charge. The 60 free minutes start when the wheels touch down, not when you booked. If you are held up at customs or baggage claim, call (833) 743-3360 and the chauffeur waits.

Where will you meet me at LAX, and can you come inside the terminal?

You are met at your own arrival terminal, on the lower Arrivals level or, if you choose meet-and-greet, inside the building beside a name sign. Both options are offered when you book a ride from LAX airport to San Clemente. Travelers clearing customs at Tom Bradley International Terminal are met in the arrivals hall instead, or at that terminal's lower curb.

Do you pick up at the LAX-it lot?

No. LAX-it is the shuttle-served lot for rideshare and taxi pickups, and iRide360 does not use it. Licensed, prearranged operators collect passengers at the terminal itself, so you walk from baggage claim to the lower Arrivals curb or meet your chauffeur inside. That saves the shuttle ride and the queue at the lot.

Getting there

How do I get from LAX to San Clemente?

Book a car service from LAX to San Clemente and you ride 66 miles door to door with no transfers. Other options exist, including rideshare, taxis, shared shuttles and rail, each with its own boarding point and fare rules. Only the pre-booked private car both collects you at the terminal door and sets the fare before you leave home.

Is there a LAX to San Clemente shuttle?

iRide360 does not run shuttles or buses, so we cannot quote a LAX to San Clemente shuttle. Shared shuttle and scheduled bus operators sell seats, pick up at their own stops and usually stop for other passengers on the way, and the same applies to a San Clemente to LAX shuttle or a San Clemente airport shuttle. We drive private sedans and SUVs only.

Is there a LAX to San Clemente train?

There is no direct rail link, and iRide360 does not sell train travel or quote rail fares. San Clemente does have two rail platforms: the Metrolink station at 1850 Avenida Estacion in North Beach, on the Orange County and Inland Empire–Orange County lines, and a separate San Clemente Pier platform. A LAX to San Clemente train trip would need a transfer; a San Clemente to LAX train would too.

How much is an Uber from LA to San Clemente?

iRide360 does not set or publish rideshare prices, so we cannot tell you what an Uber from LAX to San Clemente costs. Rideshare fares are calculated when you request the car and move with demand, weather and the time of day. Our own fare is the opposite: fixed at booking, from $270 by sedan, with no surge.

Is a private car better than a LAX to San Clemente Uber?

It depends on what you value. A LAX to San Clemente Uber is requested on arrival at the LAX-it lot and priced by demand at that moment; a San Clemente to LAX Uber works the same way. A pre-booked private car is assigned in advance, tracks your flight, waits an hour free and holds its price.

Is there a San Clemente taxi service to LAX?

Taxis serve San Clemente, but iRide360 is not one and does not quote taxi fares. A San Clemente taxi is metered, so the total depends on the traffic you hit on a 66-mile drive and is known only at the end. Our fare is agreed before the trip and does not change if the 405 crawls.

Is there a car service available from LAX to Orange County?

Yes. iRide360 drives from LAX to every part of Orange County, including a San Clemente car service at the southern end of the county. Rides run in both directions, in executive sedans and luxury SUVs, with the fare fixed at booking. Call (833) 743-3360 or book online for any Orange County address.

Is this a San Clemente black car service?

Yes. iRide360 is a San Clemente black car service: black executive sedans and black full-size luxury SUVs with professional chauffeurs, licensed by the California PUC as TCP 43833-A. The same cars run every LAX to San Clemente car service trip on this page, in both directions, at prices set when you book.

Are limos cheaper than Uber?

iRide360 cannot compare the two, because we neither set rideshare prices nor publish other operators' fares. What we can say is how ours works: a LAX to San Clemente limo ride with us is a black executive sedan or luxury SUV at a price fixed at booking. A San Clemente limo service through iRide360 never means a stretch limousine.

Should I book the sedan or the SUV?

Choose by luggage as much as head count. The executive sedan carries up to 3 passengers and 3 bags; the luxury SUV carries up to 5 passengers and 5 bags, which is why SUV service from LAX to San Clemente suits families and anyone with oversized items. Note golf clubs, skis or a stroller at booking so the right car is assigned.

Can you add a child seat or an extra stop?

Yes to both. Booster, forward-facing and rear-facing child seats start at $25 each and are added at booking. Extra stops are available too, priced for the added distance and time, so a pharmacy or grocery run on the way home is quoted before you pay. Pets travel for a $25 fee.

What is the best car service from LAX?

Check five things, then decide: a CPUC license number, flight tracking, a price set at booking, pickup at the terminal rather than the LAX-it lot, and real Google reviews. The best LAX to San Clemente car service by those tests is the one that publishes all five. iRide360 lists TCP 43833-A, tracks every arrival, includes a free hour after landing and is rated 5.0★ on Google.
