How your LAX pickup works, step by step

  1. 1

Book at iride360.com/book, one way or both directions, and choose curbside or meet-and-greet.

  2. 2

Fly in. Flight tracking is included, so a delay moves your pickup time on its own.

  3. 3

Collect your bags. Your 60 complimentary minutes start at the time you actually landed.

  4. 4

Meet your chauffeur at the lower Arrivals curb, or inside with a name sign if you added meet-and-greet for $25.

  5. 5

Ride to your La Jolla address for the fare you fixed at booking, tolls and taxes included.

Terminal by terminal

Where does your chauffeur meet you at LAX?

You have two choices, and you pick one when you book. Curbside is included: your chauffeur collects you from the lower Arrivals level once you have your bags. Meet-and-greet is $25: your chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name sign and helps with luggage from there. Arriving internationally at Tom Bradley International Terminal, you can be met in the arrivals hall after customs, or at the lower-level curb. We do not use the LAX-it rideshare lot, so there is no shuttle ride before your ride. Every LAX airport to La Jolla pickup gets 60 minutes of complimentary wait after landing.

Terminals 1, 2 and 3

Curbside on the lower Arrivals level outside your baggage claim doors, or meet-and-greet inside the terminal with a name sign.

Terminals 4, 5 and 6

Lower Arrivals level curb once your bags are in hand; your chauffeur's name, phone number and vehicle are sent before you land.

Terminals 7 and 8

Lower Arrivals level curb, or an in-terminal meet at baggage claim if you selected meet-and-greet.

Tom Bradley International Terminal

After customs and immigration, meet your chauffeur in the arrivals hall with a name sign, or at the lower-level curb.

Not sure where to go?

Call live dispatch at (833) 743-3360 and we will walk you to your chauffeur. We do not use the LAX-it rideshare lot.

One measured estimate, read October 16, 2026

How long does the drive from LAX to La Jolla take?

When we read the live booking form on October 16, 2026, it estimated the drive at 116.6 miles and about 2 hours 22 minutes, departing 6:25 AM and arriving 8:47 AM. That is one estimate for one departure on one day, and we publish it as exactly that.

We have not measured an hour-by-hour LAX to La Jolla drive time table for this route, so we do not print one. One window has a reading; the rest do not, and we plan every trip on the same estimate rather than inventing the others.

All other windowsNot measured. We plan every trip on the same 2 hours 22 minutes estimate and add a stated 20-minute buffer.

La Jolla to LAX

We reuse the same estimate northbound and say so, because we did not measure that direction.

DirectionEstimate used
La Jolla → LAXThe same 2 hours 22 minutes estimate, applied in reverse. We have not measured this direction separately, and we say so rather than guess.

Because the 2 hours 22 minutes figure came from a weekday morning departure, using it for a midday or evening pickup is, if anything, cautious rather than optimistic. La Jolla also gets busier in summer: Birch Aquarium opens extra street parking only from June 1 to September 15, and California State Parks prices Torrey Pines beach day-use by demand. UC San Diego move-in and commencement bring a lot of visiting cars onto the same roads. We will not put a number on any of that, because we have not measured it. What we can promise is that the fare does not move and the buffer is already in your pickup time.

Every time on this page is the booking engine's own estimate, read on October 16, 2026. It is not a guaranteed drive time.

Departures

When should you leave La Jolla for an LAX flight?

Plan on being at LAX two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international one. On top of that, a La Jolla to LAX car service has to cover 116 miles, so we work backwards from your flight using the full 2 hours 22 minutes estimate, add a 20-minute safety buffer, then add ten more minutes, and round to the nearest five. A 6:00 AM flight works out like this: 6:00 AM less two hours at the airport is 4:00 AM, less 2 hours 22 minutes of driving is 1:38 AM, less the 20-minute buffer is 1:18 AM, less ten minutes is 1:08 AM — a pickup at about 1:10 AM. Every row in the table below is worked out the same way and already includes that buffer.

  • Read that first row again. A 6:00 AM flight out of LAX means a pickup in La Jolla at about 1:10 AM. That is the middle of the night, not an early start, and three of the six times above fall before 5:30 AM. We would rather tell you now than have you find out the evening before. If those hours do not work for you, there are two honest options: take a later flight, or stay near LAX the night before and book a short morning transfer instead. Call dispatch on (833) 743-3360 and we will talk it through.
  • Your chauffeur meets you at your address, not at a lot or a corner.
  • Non-airport pickups include 15 minutes of complimentary wait.
  • Your chauffeur helps with luggage at both ends.
  • These times are a guideline built on one engine estimate, not a guarantee. If your flight is tight, call dispatch and we will set the pickup together.
  • Booking the return leg shows you the exact fare on the booking page before you commit.

La Jolla coverage

Which La Jolla addresses do we drive to?

A car service to La Jolla most often ends at a hotel, a campus or a hospital. The car service La Jolla travelers need on arrival knows the entrance, not just the address, so here is what each of these places publishes about arriving. Any La Jolla hotel car service booking works the same way: give us the address and the fare is fixed before you travel.

La Jolla Cove and Ellen Browning Scripps Park

The park sits at the bottom of Coast Boulevard. The City of San Diego lists the Cove as one of only nine city beaches with a permanent lifeguard station, and it has restrooms and showers. The park sits inside the San Diego–La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve. Dogs, alcohol and glass are not allowed.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps, 2300 Expedition Way

The aquarium says curbside pickup and drop-off is available in the traffic circle near the front entrance. Its own lot gives three hours of complimentary parking and fills up, so a drop-off saves the search.

UC San Diego, 9500 Gilman Drive, La Jolla 92093

Visitors who park buy a permit through ParkMobile or at an on-site pay station. A drop-off skips that step entirely.

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, 9888 Genesee Avenue

The hospital publishes that its main entrance is on Genesee Avenue, between I-5 and Campus Point Drive, and that you follow the signs once you are in the driveway. Valet parking is available at that entrance, and a drop-off skips it.

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, 2000 Spindrift Drive

At La Jolla Shores.

Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, 9700 North Torrey Pines Road

The hotel describes arrival along a terra-cotta brick-lined private drive, and offers valet parking. Check-in is 4:00 PM.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines, 11480 North Torrey Pines Road

A Torrey Pines car service drop-off from LAX is the same fixed-fare trip as any other La Jolla address.

Residential La Jolla

The residential ZIP code is 92037; the UC San Diego campus uses 92093.

One address we are not driving to right now

California State Parks publishes that Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, 12600 North Torrey Pines Road, closed its road to vehicles on September 21, 2026 and has been closed to all visitors, including walkers and cyclists, since September 22, with no reopening date given. We checked the State Parks page again on October 16, 2026 and it still says closed. The Lodge at Torrey Pines and Estancia La Jolla, on the same road, are open.

Four things worth knowing before you travel

  • If you are heading for Birch Aquarium, ask for the drop-off in the traffic circle near the front entrance. The aquarium publishes that as its curbside point, and its lot is small.
  • At Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, the main entrance is on Genesee Avenue between I-5 and Campus Point Drive. Give that as your address and your chauffeur will not circle the campus.
  • Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is closed with no reopening date published. If the reserve was the plan, check the State Parks page before you book the ride.
  • Summer is busier across La Jolla. We do not charge more for it, because the fare is set at booking.

All four will get you south, and they work differently. On a 116-mile trip the difference that matters is whether the price and the pickup are fixed before you travel.

Frequently asked questions

LAX to La Jolla car service FAQ

The questions travelers ask before booking a LAX to La Jolla transfer, grouped in the order they usually come up.

Cost

How much does a car service from LAX to La Jolla cost?

A sedan starts at $426 and an SUV starts at $487 for the LAX to La Jolla car service, with tolls and taxes included and gratuity optional. We read those fares on the live booking form on October 16, 2026 for a 116.6-mile trip. Your exact LAX to La Jolla car service cost depends on the La Jolla address you enter, and the booking page shows it before you commit.

How much is a La Jolla to LAX car service?

Enter your La Jolla pickup address on the booking page and the exact return fare appears before you book. We have published the southbound fare here because we measured it, and we will not print a northbound number we have not measured. A La Jolla to LAX car service is priced the same way: fixed at booking, tolls and taxes included, gratuity optional.

What are your LAX to La Jolla car service rates?

Two rates, because there are two vehicles: an executive sedan from $426 and a luxury suv from $487. Those LAX to La Jolla car service rates are one-way fares read from our booking form on October 16, 2026. The sedan carries up to 3 passengers and 3 bags; the SUV carries up to 5 passengers and 5 bags. Extras such as a child seat or a meet-and-greet are added separately.

Does traffic or the time of day change what I pay?

No. Traffic does not change the LAX to La Jolla car service cost, because the fare is fixed when you book. There is no surge pricing, no peak-hour supplement and no weekend rate on this route. A LAX to La Jolla flat rate means a delayed arrival at 11 PM costs the same as a smooth one at 11 AM. What does change the fare is the address, the vehicle class, extra stops and any options you add.

What is the price for a private car service to La Jolla from LAX?

From $426 in a sedan and from $487 in an SUV. A LAX to La Jolla private car service means the car is yours alone — no shared stops and no other passengers. The LAX to La Jolla car service price covers tolls and taxes, and gratuity stays optional at checkout. Add a meet-and-greet for $25 if you would rather be met inside the terminal.

The drive

How long is the drive from LAX to La Jolla?

About 2 hours 22 minutes, per the booking engine's own estimate for a 6:25 AM departure that we read on October 16, 2026. Treat that as one reading on one day, not a guarantee. We have not measured an hour-by-hour LAX to La Jolla drive time table, so we do not publish one, and every pickup time we give already carries a 20-minute buffer.

How far is La Jolla from LAX?

La Jolla is 116.6 miles from LAX on the route our booking engine quoted on October 16, 2026. That is a long-distance run rather than a city transfer, which is why we publish a fixed fare and a departure table instead of a vague estimate. La Jolla sits in San Diego County, one of the long-distance areas we serve from LAX.

When should I leave La Jolla for a 6:00 AM flight?

About 1:10 AM. That is the full 2 hours 22 minutes estimate, plus two hours at the airport, plus a 20-minute safety buffer and ten minutes more. It is the middle of the night, and we say so plainly. A La Jolla to LAX trip for an early flight is worth planning around, and a later flight or a night near LAX is often the better answer.

Is La Jolla busier at some times of year?

Yes, summer is busier. Birch Aquarium opens extra street parking only between June 1 and September 15, and California State Parks prices Torrey Pines beach day-use by demand, which tells you when the crowds arrive. UC San Diego move-in and commencement also bring heavy visitor traffic. We will not put a delay figure on any of it, because we have not measured one.

Meeting you

Where do you meet me at LAX?

On the lower Arrivals level at the curb, once you have your bags, at no extra cost. If you would rather be met inside with a name sign, add meet-and-greet for $25 when you book. Arriving at Tom Bradley International, we can meet you in the arrivals hall after customs or at the lower-level curb. Every LAX airport to La Jolla booking includes 60 minutes of wait after landing.

Do I have to go to the LAX-it lot?

No. iRide360 does not use the LAX-it rideshare lot. As a prearranged licensed operator we meet you at the terminal, so there is no shuttle ride between your flight and your car. That matters more on a 116-mile trip than on a short one, because you are already facing a long drive before you reach La Jolla.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing changes and you pay nothing more. Flight tracking is included on every airport booking, so your pickup time moves with the delay automatically. You do not need to call or rebook. If the delay is long enough to change your plans entirely, dispatch is on (833) 743-3360, 24 hours a day, and we can move the booking.

How long will you wait for me?

60 minutes of complimentary wait after your flight lands, then $1 per minute. The hour starts at the actual landing time, not the scheduled one, because we track the flight. For a pickup that is not at an airport — your La Jolla hotel, for example — the complimentary wait is 15 minutes.

Alternatives

Is there a shuttle from LAX to La Jolla?

Shared shuttles do run on this corridor, and they work differently from what we do. A shuttle collects several passengers, makes several stops and leaves in a fixed window, which can add a long time to a trip that is already over two hours. We do not sell a LAX to La Jolla shuttle seat or a La Jolla airport shuttle seat; every iRide360 booking is a private car for your party alone.

Is there a shuttle from La Jolla to LAX?

Yes, shared shuttle operators serve the northbound leg too. A La Jolla to LAX shuttle is priced per seat and runs to its own schedule, so you fit your departure around it. We do not offer one. We offer a private car with a pickup time calculated from your flight, which is the trade-off: a shared seat costs less, a private car fits your clock.

What is the cheapest or best way to get from San Diego back to LAX?

The cheapest option on that corridor is almost always a shared seat, and the best one depends on your criteria rather than anyone's marketing. Judge a San Diego to LAX car service on four things: whether the price is fixed before you travel, whether the operator publishes a license number, what the wait policy is, and whether flights are tracked. We publish all four on this page.

Should I take a taxi or rent a car instead?

Both work, and both shift the risk to you. A LAX to La Jolla taxi runs on a meter, so traffic on a 116-mile drive lands on your bill. A rental means you handle the counter queue, the drive and the parking at the other end, which is a real cost at a campus or a hotel. A private car is one fixed number agreed before you travel.

Vehicles

Which vehicle should I book?

Pick the sedan for one or two travelers with normal luggage, and the SUV for a family, extra bags or more room across a long drive. Those are the only two classes we offer: an executive sedan for up to 3 passengers and 3 bags, and a luxury suv for up to 5 passengers and 5 bags. If you want the feel of a La Jolla town car service, the executive sedan is that car.

Is this a black car service?

Yes. iRide360 is a black car service, and our black car service La Jolla bookings run in the same two classes as everything else: a black executive sedan or a black full-size SUV. If you are searching for black car service from La Jolla to LAX, that is the northbound version of the same thing, booked on the same page and priced the same way.

Do you offer a limo service in La Jolla?

We give you the private, chauffeured airport limousine experience in a black executive sedan or a luxury SUV. If you are shopping for a La Jolla limo service, that is what we provide; we do not operate stretch limousines, Sprinter vans or party buses. If limo service La Jolla means a stretch limousine to you, that is a different product from ours, and we would rather be clear about it.

Trust

Are there reviews of your LAX to La Jolla car service?

Yes, on our Google profile, where we are rated 5.0★. We do not reprint review text on route pages, so if you are looking for LAX to La Jolla car service reviews, read them at the source rather than in our words. What we will state here is checkable: CPUC charter-party carrier TCP 43833-A, licensed and insured, with chauffeurs who are screened and background-checked.

Do you drive from Los Angeles generally, or only from LAX?

Both. Our Los Angeles to La Jolla car service runs from any Los Angeles County address, not only the airport, and a La Jolla car service booking can start at a hotel, an office or a home. Long-distance trips from LAX run to San Diego County, the Coachella Valley, Santa Barbara County and the mountain resorts. Tell us the address and the fare is fixed before you travel.

Service

Can I book a chauffeur for stops around La Jolla?

Yes. Extra stops are priced for the added distance and time, and you add them when you book. A La Jolla chauffeur service booking can take in the Cove, a hotel and a restaurant in one run rather than three separate rides. Tell us the stops up front so the fare is fixed before you travel instead of being adjusted afterwards.

Can you take me to UC San Diego?

Yes. The campus address is 9500 Gilman Drive, La Jolla 92093, and a drop-off avoids the visitor permit that UC San Diego requires for parking through ParkMobile or an on-site pay station. A UC San Diego car service booking from LAX is the same fixed-fare trip as any other La Jolla address. Give us the building or residence hall and we will take you to it.

Can you take me to La Jolla Cove?

Yes. Ellen Browning Scripps Park sits at the bottom of Coast Boulevard, and the City of San Diego runs a permanent lifeguard station there with restrooms and showers. A La Jolla Cove car service drop-off saves you hunting for a space near the water. Note the City's rules at the Cove: no dogs, no alcohol and no glass.

Booking

How far ahead should I book, and can I change it?

Book as early as you can for this route, because a 116-mile trip often needs a pickup in the small hours. You can change the pickup time, the address or the vehicle online or through dispatch, and the price adjusts to match. Dispatch answers 24/7 on (833) 743-3360. Child seats, a pet at $25 or extra stops can be added the same way.
