How much is a LAX to UCLA car service?

Our LAX to UCLA car service is priced on distance and time, set at booking, and it does not move with traffic or demand. People searching for a LAX to UCLA town car are looking at the same executive sedan. We priced eight addresses across the campus in our own booking engine. Rounded up, sedans came to $124 to $132 and SUVs to $148 to $156, before any tip. The lowest was 757 Westwood Plaza, the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center address, and the highest was Royce Hall on Dickson Court. UCLA's own campus street address, 405 Hilgard Avenue, quoted $126.90 for a sedan and $151.27 for an SUV.

What affects the price of a UCLA ride?

  • The exact campus address. Westwood Plaza addresses on the south side of campus quoted lower than Dickson Court in the north. The spread across our eight campus quotes was about $8 for a sedan.
  • The vehicle. The luxury SUV costs more than the executive sedan and carries 5 people and 5 bags instead of 3 and 3.
  • Extra stops. A stop at a storage unit or a Westwood apartment on the way is priced for the added distance and time.
  • Child seats and pets. Booster, forward-facing and rear-facing seats start at $25 each on request, and there is a $25 pet fee.
  • Waiting beyond the free hour. After 60 complimentary minutes at the airport, waiting is $1 per minute.
  • Traffic, the hour or the day. We quoted the Medical Center and Royce Hall at both Tuesday 11 AM and Friday 5 PM and got the same figures each time. There is no surge pricing. Your LAX to UCLA flat rate is the number you agreed at booking.
  • Tolls and taxes. Both are already inside the price.

Typical, per Google Maps

How long is the drive from LAX to UCLA?

The distance from LAX to UCLA is 15 to 17 road miles and the route is Interstate 405 in both directions, so the clock, not the mileage, decides the trip. Each range below is typical, per Google traffic estimates (Routes API), measured to 405 Hilgard Avenue.

Arriving, the slowest window is the weekday morning peak and the fastest is late at night.

LAX → UCLA

WindowTypical drive time
Late night (after 8 PM) and before 6 AM20–35 min
Weekday midday (9 AM–2 PM)30–50 min

Weekends25–45 min

UCLA → LAX (measured in this direction)

Leaving campus, the same 15.5 miles takes 20 to 25 minutes before dawn and up to 1 hour 20 minutes at Tuesday afternoon peak, which is why the departure table below exists.

Departure time checkedTypical drive time
Tue 3:30 AM20–25 min
Tue 6:00 AM20–30 min
Tue 7:00 AM25–40 min

Tue 4:30 PM45 min–1 hr 20 min
Tue 6:30 PM35–55 min
Fri 2:30 PM35 min–1 hr 10 min

One local insight: the fastest UCLA to LAX time we measured all week was 3:30 AM on a Tuesday, at 20 to 25 minutes. The slowest was 4:30 PM the same day, at 45 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes — more than three times as long for the same 15.5 miles.

Every range on this page is typical, per Google traffic estimates (Routes API), taken in October 2026 between LAX and 405 Hilgard Avenue and between LAX and Royce Hall on Dickson Court. The suggested pickups below already carry a 20-minute safety buffer.

Departures

When should I leave for a UCLA to LAX flight?

Allow two hours at LAX for a domestic flight and three for an international one, then add the drive. The pickups below are built from our own UCLA to LAX airport readings and each one already includes a stated 20-minute safety buffer, because the traffic API's upper estimate back to LAX runs shorter than Google Maps at peak. Booking transportation from UCLA to LAX this way means you are not guessing at the 405.

  • Each drive figure is the upper end of the typical range from the nearest reading in the UCLA → LAX table above.
  • The working behind each row: the 6 AM flight allows 2 hours at the airport, a 24-minute drive, the 20-minute safety buffer and 10 minutes to load; the 9 AM flight allows 38 minutes of drive time; the 1 PM flight 34 minutes; the 6 PM flight 82 minutes; the 11 AM international flight 3 hours at the airport and 38 minutes of drive time; and the 10:30 PM international flight 3 hours and 56 minutes of drive time.
  • The 20-minute safety buffer is already inside every time in the table; you do not add it yourself.
  • Departing flights leave from the upper Departures level at LAX, and your chauffeur helps with bags at the curb.
  • A UCLA to LAX car service pickup on campus includes 15 minutes of complimentary wait, so give yourself a moment to get down from the room.
  • These are guidelines. For a holiday weekend or a very early flight, call dispatch on (833) 743-3360 and we will set the time with you.

UCLA coverage

Where can a UCLA car service drop you on campus?

UCLA is a campus, not a single door, so our LAX to UCLA car service needs the building name and street address. The two halves of campus are reached from different streets, and an arriving family that names the hall gets taken to the right side first time. Central campus is reached from Westwood Plaza and Westwood Boulevard; the Hill residence halls are a separate drop-off.

Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center — 757 Westwood Plaza

UCLA tells arriving drivers to pull into the valet driveway at the building's main entrance, and says there are vehicle drop-off zones in front of the hospital and the emergency room. This address was the lowest of our eight campus quotes. Ask for LAX to UCLA Medical Center when you book.

UCLA Medical Plaza — 100, 200 and 300 Medical Plaza Way

UCLA places these buildings on Westwood Plaza north of Le Conte Avenue, with Gayley Avenue serving the 200 and 300 buildings.

Jules Stein Eye Institute

UCLA directs arrivals to enter from Westwood Plaza, north of Le Conte Avenue.

UCLA Luskin Conference Center — 425 Westwood Plaza

UCLA's own visitor guide says rideshare vehicles pick up and drop off at several designated points on campus, the Luskin Conference Center among them, and that Lot 8 is steps from the center.

UCLA Parking Structure 8 — 555 Westwood Plaza

The visitor structure for arrivals entering campus off Wilshire Boulevard: from Wilshire you turn north onto Westwood Boulevard and the structure is on your left. UCLA lists Level 4 as a visitor area.

UCLA Central Ticket Office — 325 Westwood Plaza

UCLA gives it as ground level, across from Pauley Pavilion.

Royce Hall — 10745 Dickson Court

The northern end of central campus, and the highest of our eight campus quotes at $131.10 for a sedan.

The Hill — Sunset Village, De Neve and the rest of the on-campus residence halls

A different drop-off from central campus. UCLA Housing names the driving entrances for on-campus housing: Sunset Boulevard at Bellagio Way as the most direct, plus Gayley Avenue at Strathmore Drive and Sunset Boulevard at Westwood Plaza. During scheduled move-in, UCLA converts part of Charles E Young Drive and De Neve Drive into a clockwise one-way loop and has personnel directing traffic. Give us the hall name when you book, not just "UCLA".

UCLA Parking Structure 4

The visitor structure for arrivals entering campus off Sunset Boulevard: you exit Sunset heading east, then turn right onto Westwood Boulevard.

On-campus addresses and ZIP codes

UCLA says to locate the campus by ZIP code 90095 or by street address 405 Hilgard Avenue. Some confirmed on-campus addresses on the Hill come back as ZIP 90024 instead, so give the building name as well as the ZIP. For the neighborhood around campus — the Village, the hotels on Wilshire and the apartments south of Le Conte — see our LAX to Westwood car service page.

Arriving at UCLA: five things worth knowing

  • UCLA's own directions send drivers in two ways: from the north, the 405 to Wilshire Boulevard east, then three blocks to Westwood Boulevard; from the south, the 405 to Sunset Boulevard east, then Westwood Plaza.
  • UCLA runs 12 designated ride-hailing pick-up zones across campus, enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Check which zone serves your building if someone is collecting you.
  • Move-in week, the week before fall quarter begins, is the busiest arrival of the year, and it goes to the Hill rather than central campus. Expect the one-way loop and marshals.
  • Family weekends and commencement fill central campus instead, so the Westwood Plaza side is the slow one on those days.
  • UCLA requires visitors to pay for parking before they leave the vehicle, and a valid permit is required — one less thing to arrange if you are dropped off instead of parking.

Frequently asked questions

LAX to UCLA car service FAQ

The questions travelers ask before booking a LAX to UCLA transfer, grouped in the order they usually come up.

Prices

How much does a LAX to UCLA car service cost?

An iRide360 LAX to UCLA car service starts at $124 for an executive sedan and $148 for a luxury SUV, before any gratuity. We quoted eight addresses across the campus: rounded up, sedans came to $124 to $132 and SUVs to $148 to $156. The Medical Center on Westwood Plaza was the lowest and Royce Hall the highest. Tolls and taxes are inside the fare.

Does traffic on the 405 change what I pay?

No. The fare is fixed when you book and does not move with traffic, the hour or demand. We ran the same two campus addresses at Tuesday 11 AM and at Friday 5 PM and got identical figures both times. Arranging transportation from LAX to UCLA in advance means the number you agree is the number you pay.

How much is car service to LAX from campus?

A ride in the UCLA to LAX direction uses the same two vehicle classes and the same fixed-price approach, and the exact figure appears on the booking page once you enter your campus address and time. The fare is set when you book, with tolls and taxes included and gratuity optional. Dispatch can also quote it on (833) 743-3360.

Getting there and distance

How do you get from LAX to UCLA?

The simplest answer to how to get from LAX to UCLA is to book a chauffeured car, which drives the 15 to 17 miles up Interstate 405 from your terminal to the campus entrance you name. A LAX airport to UCLA ride takes a typical 20 to 35 minutes after 8 PM and 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes at weekday morning peak, per Google traffic estimates. Rideshare, taxi, shuttle and bus also serve the route.

What address should I give for UCLA?

Give the building name and its street address, not just "UCLA". The campus street address is 405 Hilgard Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90095, but the campus runs from Sunset Boulevard to Le Conte Avenue and the entrances differ by building. Residence halls on the Hill are reached from Sunset Boulevard or Gayley Avenue, central campus from Westwood Plaza.

Is the drop-off different for the residence halls?

Yes. The Hill residence halls are a separate drop-off from central campus. UCLA Housing names Sunset Boulevard at Bellagio Way as the most direct entrance for on-campus housing, along with Gayley Avenue at Strathmore Drive and Sunset Boulevard at Westwood Plaza. Central campus buildings are reached from Westwood Plaza and Westwood Boulevard instead. Name the hall when you book.

How far is LAX to UCLA?

The LAX to UCLA distance is 15 to 17 road miles, depending on which campus building you are heading for. The route is Interstate 405 northbound, and the return is the 405 southbound at 15.5 miles. Royce Hall, at the far north end of central campus, was the longest of the eight addresses we measured.

Timing and departures

How long does the drive take?

Typically 20 to 35 minutes after 8 PM, 30 to 50 minutes at weekday midday, and 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes at weekday morning peak, per Google traffic estimates (Routes API). Friday evenings ran 25 to 40 minutes and weekends 25 to 45. Your fare does not change if the traffic does.

How long does it take to get from UCLA to LAX?

Typically 20 to 25 minutes leaving campus at 3:30 AM on a Tuesday, 25 to 40 minutes at 7 AM, and 45 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes at 4:30 PM, per Google traffic estimates. A UCLA to LAX airport run at afternoon peak can take three times as long as the same drive before dawn, which is why the departure table matters.

How early should I leave UCLA for an LAX flight?

Work backwards from the flight: that is the whole trick to how to get to LAX from UCLA on time. Book a UCLA to LAX car service for the time below. For a 6 AM domestic departure we suggest a pickup at about 3:05 AM: two hours at the airport, 24 minutes of drive time, a 20-minute safety buffer and 10 minutes to load. For a 9 AM flight, about 5:50 AM.

At LAX

Where will my chauffeur meet me at LAX?

At your terminal. Choose curbside on the lower Arrivals level, or meet and greet inside the terminal where your chauffeur waits with a name sign and helps with the bags. Arriving at Tom Bradley International Terminal, you can be met in the arrivals hall after customs or at the lower-level curb.

Does LAX have a train to rental cars?

Check the airport's own site for the current rental-car connection before you travel, because we do not publish LAX facility details. It makes no difference to a prearranged car: your iRide360 chauffeur comes to your terminal, so you never cross to a rental facility or a rideshare lot. Give us the terminal and flight number when you book.

Other ways to travel

What is the LAX to UCLA Uber cost?

Only the Uber app can tell you, because rideshare prices are set when you request a car and move with demand. We cannot quote another company's fare and never publish one. What we can say is that an iRide360 executive sedan to UCLA starts at $124, fixed at booking, and that rideshare pickups happen at the LAX-it lot rather than your terminal.

Is a UCLA to LAX shuttle cheaper than a taxi?

We cannot compare fares we do not set, so we will not guess. The real difference is how they work: an airport shuttle is a shared van that collects several parties and stops at each one, a taxi is metered from the LAX-it lot, and a UCLA shuttle to LAX leaves on the operator's schedule rather than yours. iRide360 runs neither; we run private cars.

Can I take a bus from campus to the airport?

Public transit does serve the route, and UCLA's own transportation site is the place to check current services, stops and times. We do not publish bus schedules or fares. If you would rather not manage a UCLA to LAX bus or a bus from UCLA to LAX with luggage, a private car picks you up at the hall door instead.

On campus

Do you serve the Medical Center and the conference center?

Yes. UCLA tells arriving drivers to use the valet driveway at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center's main entrance at 757 Westwood Plaza, and says there are vehicle drop-off zones in front of the hospital and the emergency room. The Luskin Conference Center is at 425 Westwood Plaza. Give the building name when you book.

Are there rules about where cars can stop on campus?

Yes, and they vary by area and by season. UCLA has 12 designated ride-hailing pick-up zones across campus, enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During scheduled move-in, UCLA also turns part of Charles E Young Drive and De Neve Drive into a clockwise one-way loop, with personnel directing traffic. Tell us the building and entrance when you book, and your chauffeur follows UCLA's own directions and any marshals on the day.

Vehicles and service

Do you offer a LAX to UCLA limo?

We provide the private, chauffeured airport limousine experience in black executive sedans and luxury SUVs. Those are our only two vehicle classes. Stretch limousines are not part of our fleet. For a campus arrival, the executive sedan takes 3 passengers and 3 bags and the luxury SUV takes 5 and 5, with a licensed chauffeur and a fare agreed before pickup.

Can you take a family and a term's worth of luggage?

Yes. The luxury SUV seats up to 5 passengers with 5 bags, which suits a residence-hall move-in; the executive sedan takes 3 and 3. We can also add a stop, priced for the extra distance and time, if you need to collect something in Westwood on the way.

Can I bring a child seat or a pet?

Yes to both. Booster, forward-facing and rear-facing child seats are available from $25 each on request, fitted before you land. Pets travel for a $25 pet fee, listed as an extra rather than an included amenity. Service animals are never charged. Add either when you book, or call dispatch on (833) 743-3360.

Booking and policies

Do I tip the chauffeur?

Gratuity is optional and entirely yours to choose. At checkout you can pick 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%, a custom amount, or nothing at all, and it goes to the chauffeur. Every "from" price on this page is the fare without gratuity, so nothing is added behind your back.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing on your side. Flight tracking is included on every airport ride, so the pickup moves with the delay at no charge. After the flight lands you get 60 minutes of complimentary wait; beyond that it is $1 per minute. A non-airport pickup, such as one on campus, includes 15 minutes.

How far ahead should I book?

Book as soon as you have the flight, particularly around move-in week, family weekends, commencement and the end of term, when the whole campus travels at once. You can change the pickup time, the address or the vehicle online or through dispatch afterwards, and the price adjusts to the change.

Is there a phone number for a LAX to UCLA ride?

Yes — dispatch is on (833) 743-3360, 24 hours a day, and can quote, book or change a campus ride on the call. You can also book online at iride360.com/book and change the pickup time, address or vehicle there afterwards. iRide360's office is at 222 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Suite 2000, El Segundo, CA 90245, minutes from the airport.

What should I look for when choosing a car service to UCLA?

Look for four things: a published price you can see before you book, a California CPUC charter-party license, flight tracking with a stated free wait time, and door-to-door drop-off rather than a shared stop. iRide360 is TCP 43833-A, prices from $124, tracks your flight and waits 60 minutes after landing. Our Google rating is 5.0★.
